Nock On QAD UltraRest HDX
Regular price $169.99 Save $-169.99The Ultimate Cable-Driven Drop-Away Rest
The Nock On QD UltraRest HDX delivers total arrow containment and flawless performance for serious bowhunters and target archers.
This high-performance, cable-driven drop-away arrow rest is proudly made in the USA and built to handle backcountry hunts and tournament pressure shots.
When your success hinges on consistent arrow flight, the HDX delivers. Its Velocity Drop-Away Technology provides lightning-quick spring activation, and its Lock Down Technology eliminates bounce-back, keeping those prongs out of your arrow’s path during the moment of release.
Core Benefits
- Total arrow containment with zero fletching interference for perfect arrow flight
- Silent operation with an exclusive dampening system that kills noise and vibration
- Micro-adjustable in both vertical and horizontal planes for pinpoint tuning
- Field-proven durability with silencing felt and exclusive shrink tubing
The Nock On Advantage
Velocity Drop-Away Technology
The HDX features high-tension spring activation that delivers lightning-fast drop-away action. This advanced system ensures your rest clears the arrow path completely before fletching arrives, eliminating contact for perfect arrow flight.
When milliseconds matter and fletching clearance determines accuracy, the Velocity Drop-Away Technology gives you the performance edge you need.
Lock Down Technology
Rest bounce-back can ruin an otherwise perfect shot. The HDX’s Lock Down Technology prevents the launcher from bouncing back into your arrow’s path after dropping away.
This rock-solid lockdown feature means your fletching passes cleanly every time, maintaining arrow stability and flight consistency whether you’re shooting at 20 yards or 80.
Noise and Vibration Damping
The HDX’s sophisticated cam brake and damper design eliminate noise and vibration at the source. With the added silencing felt and exclusive silencing shrink tubing, this rest stays whisper-quiet when that trophy buck is just yards away.
Every component works together to eliminate the sound signature that could alert game to your presence.
Smart Cable Management
Based on John Dudley’s technique, the HDX’s cable-driven design prevents cord twisting and arrow contact.
By threading the activation cord from the outside closest to the lever arm, you maintain clean cord positioning that stays clear of your arrow’s path during the shot cycle. This simple setup technique prevents cord whip and interference that could hurt your accuracy.
Precision Micro-Adjustment
Fine-tune your arrow rest with confidence using the HDX’s vertical and horizontal micro-adjustment capability. These precision adjustments allow for exact center-shot alignment and perfect arrow positioning.
The micro-adjust feature makes the HDX compatible with today’s high-end compound bows, allowing for the fine-tuning necessary for bullet-hole paper tears and field-proven accuracy.
Versatile Performance
While many bowhunters know QAD rests for their hunting applications, the HDX also excels in target archery. Compared to traditional launcher blades, the containment system is advantageous on uneven terrain and in windy conditions.
For bowhunters crossing over into target archery, the HDX offers familiar operation while accommodating specialized target setups, including smaller diameter shafts and lower-profile vane configurations.
Whale Tail Launcher
The HDX comes equipped with a durable whale tail launcher. This specialized launcher provides optimal support for your arrow while maintaining total clearance during the shot. The octagon design ensures repeatable positioning, and the spring steel construction delivers consistent performance shot after shot.
For maximum longevity, John recommends replacing the whale tail annually, especially if you hunt in wet conditions.

FAQ’s
My HDX isn’t dropping consistently when I release the timing cord. Is this normal?
This is a timing issue that’s easily fixed.
Your rest needs to reach a full 90-degree vertical position at the end of your draw cycle to build proper tension in the activation system. If you’re timing the rest to come up at 290 degrees instead of a full 90, you won’t have enough spring tension to activate the drop-away mechanism reliably.
Check that those timing lines on your rest align perfectly when you’re at full draw. If they’re off, adjust your timing cord until the launcher reaches true vertical.
Remember, proper timing isn’t just about when it comes up; it’s about reaching maximum tension to ensure consistent drop-away performance.
I’m getting fletching contact with my containment bar. How do I fix this?
Fletching contact usually comes down to launcher positioning and spacer block setup.
First, make sure your launcher is centered under the middle of the arched containment bar, not shifted left or right. If your pro shop moved the launcher to different mounting holes for windage adjustment, they likely need to install the proper spacer block to shift the entire assembly while keeping the launcher centered.
For cock vane orientation, the HDX works with both cock vane up and cock vane out, but if you’re getting contact with larger vanes, try rotating to cock vane out position. The key is making sure your launcher supports the arrow directly under the center of that containment arch.
Can I use the HDX on my dual cam bow, or is it only for single cam systems?
The HDX works perfectly on dual cam bows. The cable-driven design provides more consistent timing than limb-driven rests because it’s not affected by limb timing variations that can occur with dual cam systems.
The key is proper cable routing and timing setup. Make sure you’re threading your activation cord from the outside position closest to the lever arm to prevent cord interference, and time the rest so it reaches full vertical at your specific draw length.
Dual cam bows often have slightly different draw cycles, so you might need to fine-tune your timing cord position, but the HDX is absolutely compatible with any compound bow design.
How do I properly quiet my HDX without affecting performance?
Start with the included silencing felt and shrink tubing. These are specifically designed to dampen noise without interfering with function.
Apply moleskin or felt to the launcher arms where your arrow makes contact during the draw, but avoid over-padding, which can create inconsistent arrow positioning. The exclusive Nock On shrink tubing goes on the prongs and capture bar for additional noise reduction.
Some archers get so focused on silencing that they create slop in the system. Keep your silencing materials thin and consistent. You want to eliminate noise, not create a mushy platform that affects arrow flight.
Replace your silencing materials annually, especially if you hunt in wet conditions.
My arrows show wear marks on the shafts. Is my rest dropping too slowly?
Arrow wear typically indicates timing issues rather than a slow-dropping rest. The HDX’s Velocity Drop-Away Technology is designed for bows shooting over 400 FPS, so speed isn’t the issue.
Check your timing first. If the rest isn’t reaching full vertical at full draw, it won’t have enough spring tension to drop quickly. Also, manually cycle the rest to verify your Lock Down Technology is working properly. If you’re still seeing shaft wear after confirming proper timing, check that your activation cord isn’t interfering with arrow flight and that your launcher isn’t bouncing back into the arrow path.
The wear pattern will tell you what’s happening. Contact on the shaft’s front half means delayed drop-away, while contact near the nock end suggests bounce-back issues.

Elevate Pro blades
Regular price $6.50 Save $-6.50ELEVATE PRO Replacement Blade (Qty 1) You must select one of 3 sizes for WIDTH and THICKNESS.
John Dudley's recommendations on Blades Width are FREAK for Micro diameter Arrow, STANDARD for standard diameter arrows up to 22 dia. & the WIDE blade for arrows larger than a 23 wall diameter.
Blade THICKNESS depends on angle you set your blade and weight of your arrow. Heavier arrows will need a heavier blade. .010 is the most common but lighter arrows will tune better with a .080 and heavier arrows may prefer up to a .012.
