Expert-Built Arrows That Deliver When It Counts

These hand fletched match grade Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) arrows are the exact arrow setup John Dudley relies on for successful shooting and bowhunting.

Built with meticulous attention to detail, these pro-level arrows are cut to your specified length with inserts installed and ready to shoot right out of the box. Each set delivers match grade straightness (.001+/-) and weight tolerance for unmatched accuracy and penetration performance.

The 5mm FMJ combines a carbon core with an aluminum outer jacket that reduces wind drift and friction for deeper penetration. Each arrow is hand fletched in a 4-fletch configuration with 2.5-degree right helical using Nock On Certified wraps and Max Stealth Vanes, the exact specs from John’s personal setup.

Core Benefits

  • Match grade straightness (.001+/-) and tight weight tolerance for field-proven accuracy
  • Pre-installed brass HIT inserts boost Front of Center (FOC) for improved long-range ballistics
  • Aluminum outer jacket reduces friction for deeper penetration on game
  • Hand fletched 4-fletch configuration steers broadheads with precision

The FMJ Advantage

Heavy-Hitting Performance

The FMJ arrow has a heavier overall mass weight compared to standard carbon arrows, giving you increased momentum and penetration power. This extra weight translates to knockdown performance on big game.

With its aluminum sleeve over carbon construction, the FMJ remains John’s go-to choice for elk, moose, and any hunting situation where maximum penetration matters.

“The FMJ is just a demolisher,” John says. “These are heavier overall... and in the field, this thing rams through some serious stuff.”

Friction-Reducing Aluminum Jacket

The aluminum outer jacket on the FMJ reduces friction during penetration compared to standard carbon arrows. This friction reduction, combined with the arrow’s increased mass, creates the perfect combination for punching through game.

The smooth aluminum surface also makes these arrows much easier to pull from targets during practice sessions, particularly from 3D targets in colder temperatures.

4-Fletch Configuration

Each arrow features our precision 4-fletch setup with a 2.5-degree right helical, using Max Stealth Vanes for optimal broadhead steering.

This configuration corrects arrow flight faster than traditional 3-fletch setups and allows you to shoot multiple broadhead types with consistent accuracy.

The 4-fletch pattern compensates for minor tuning variations, giving you more confidence when it matters most.

Brass HIT Insert System

Every FMJ comes standard with pre-installed brass 50/75 grain break-off HIT 8*32 inserts. These custom brass inserts, developed by John himself, boost Front of Center (FOC) weight distribution for improved long-range accuracy.

The inserts are installed using premium hot melt that allows for broadhead indexing if needed. Just warm the insert to adjust broadhead alignment.

Broadhead Adapter Rings

Each arrow includes pre-installed Broadhead Adapter Rings (BAR) that encapsulate the end of your arrow and help align your broadheads.

This system creates consistent broadhead flight and helps protect the arrow’s front end from impact damage.

Match Grade Quality

These aren’t ordinary arrows. They’re match grade with a guaranteed straightness tolerance of +/-.001″.

Each batch of FMJs comes from a continuous 3-mile spool of carbon, cut in sequence to ensure spine and weight consistency. This manufacturing process creates arrows that are “perfect clones” of each other, eliminating variables and maximizing accuracy.

Spine Selection Guide

The FMJ 300 spine at 29.5″ with 75 grains of brass and a 100-grain point weighs approximately 570 grains. With 50 grains of brass instead of 75, the same arrow weighs about 545 grains.

These weights don’t include lighted nocks, which add approximately 12 grains if installed.

Professional Performance

John doesn’t just sell these arrows. He relies on them personally.

“I’m not building my own arrows anymore,” he explains. “I walk in the shop, I get these exact arrows, and I take them and shoot them.”

The hand fletched FMJ arrows require no additional tuning or knock indexing. They’re ready to deliver tight groups straight from the package.

Note: Custom-built arrows are non-returnable once specifications are confirmed.

Hand Fletched FMJ Match Grade Arrows: Frequently Asked Questions

Are these arrows worth the higher price compared to standard carbon arrows?

These aren’t the cheapest arrows on the shelf, but they perform so consistently that John Dudley himself trusts them completely. They’ve put meat in his freezer for years.

When you factor in the match grade straightness, the hand fletching, and the fact that these arrows are ready to shoot right out of the box, you’re getting an incredible value.

Would you rather spend a little more on arrows that perform when it counts, or would you rather save money and lose the shot of a lifetime?

How much heavier are these compared to my current carbon arrows? Will that affect my shooting?

The FMJ 300 spine, at 29.5″ with 75 grains of brass and a 100-grain point weighs approximately 570 grains, is heavier than most carbon setups.

You’ll need to adjust your sight pins, and you’ll have more arc at longer distances. But you gain devastating penetration and momentum that demolishes whatever it hits.

The FMJ is a heavy hitter by design. If you’re hunting big game or want maximum penetration, that extra weight is your friend. Lighter arrows give you a flatter trajectory, but heavier arrows give you more knockdown power.

Can I shoot these arrows in cold weather without issues?

Absolutely. Compared to standard carbon arrows, these arrows are easier to pull from targets in cold weather.

The aluminum outer jacket reduces friction, which means less wrestling with stuck arrows during winter practice sessions. The aluminum jacket also helps with durability in extreme temperatures.

John has shot these in everything from Texas heat to Canadian cold, and they perform consistently.

Do I need to re-tune my bow when switching to these arrows?

You’ll likely need some tuning adjustments because of the weight difference, but the 4-fletch configuration is forgiving. The 4-fletch setup corrects arrow flight faster than traditional 3-fletch and compensates for minor tuning variations. Most archers can get these flying well with minimal adjustments.

The match grade straightness and weight consistency means they stay consistent once you get them tuned. Just make sure you select the right spine for your setup.

Are these overkill for whitetail deer?

There’s no such thing as “too much penetration” when it comes to ethical hunting. Yes, these arrows will demolish a whitetail, but that’s what you want. Complete pass-throughs mean better blood trails and quicker recoveries.

John has used these arrows on every animal from whitetails to elk. The confidence you get knowing your arrow will punch through whatever it hits is unmatched. The quiet flight characteristics also help. Deer don’t pick up the sound like they do with lighter arrows.

How long will these arrows last with regular practice?

These arrows are built tough. The aluminum outer jacket protects the carbon core and makes them more durable than standard carbon arrows. They’re easier to pull from targets, which reduces stress on the arrow during practice.

If you practice a lot in field conditions, you might break a few here and there, but that’s true of any arrow. The durability you get with the FMJ construction is definitely above average.
