FAQ’s

My HDX isn’t dropping consistently when I release the timing cord. Is this normal?

This is a timing issue that’s easily fixed.

Your rest needs to reach a full 90-degree vertical position at the end of your draw cycle to build proper tension in the activation system. If you’re timing the rest to come up at 290 degrees instead of a full 90, you won’t have enough spring tension to activate the drop-away mechanism reliably.

Check that those timing lines on your rest align perfectly when you’re at full draw. If they’re off, adjust your timing cord until the launcher reaches true vertical.

Remember, proper timing isn’t just about when it comes up; it’s about reaching maximum tension to ensure consistent drop-away performance.

I’m getting fletching contact with my containment bar. How do I fix this?

Fletching contact usually comes down to launcher positioning and spacer block setup.

First, make sure your launcher is centered under the middle of the arched containment bar, not shifted left or right. If your pro shop moved the launcher to different mounting holes for windage adjustment, they likely need to install the proper spacer block to shift the entire assembly while keeping the launcher centered.

For cock vane orientation, the HDX works with both cock vane up and cock vane out, but if you’re getting contact with larger vanes, try rotating to cock vane out position. The key is making sure your launcher supports the arrow directly under the center of that containment arch.

Can I use the HDX on my dual cam bow, or is it only for single cam systems?

The HDX works perfectly on dual cam bows. The cable-driven design provides more consistent timing than limb-driven rests because it’s not affected by limb timing variations that can occur with dual cam systems.

The key is proper cable routing and timing setup. Make sure you’re threading your activation cord from the outside position closest to the lever arm to prevent cord interference, and time the rest so it reaches full vertical at your specific draw length.

Dual cam bows often have slightly different draw cycles, so you might need to fine-tune your timing cord position, but the HDX is absolutely compatible with any compound bow design.

How do I properly quiet my HDX without affecting performance?

Start with the included silencing felt and shrink tubing. These are specifically designed to dampen noise without interfering with function.

Apply moleskin or felt to the launcher arms where your arrow makes contact during the draw, but avoid over-padding, which can create inconsistent arrow positioning. The exclusive Nock On shrink tubing goes on the prongs and capture bar for additional noise reduction.

Some archers get so focused on silencing that they create slop in the system. Keep your silencing materials thin and consistent. You want to eliminate noise, not create a mushy platform that affects arrow flight.

Replace your silencing materials annually, especially if you hunt in wet conditions.

My arrows show wear marks on the shafts. Is my rest dropping too slowly?

Arrow wear typically indicates timing issues rather than a slow-dropping rest. The HDX’s Velocity Drop-Away Technology is designed for bows shooting over 400 FPS, so speed isn’t the issue.

Check your timing first. If the rest isn’t reaching full vertical at full draw, it won’t have enough spring tension to drop quickly. Also, manually cycle the rest to verify your Lock Down Technology is working properly. If you’re still seeing shaft wear after confirming proper timing, check that your activation cord isn’t interfering with arrow flight and that your launcher isn’t bouncing back into the arrow path.

The wear pattern will tell you what’s happening. Contact on the shaft’s front half means delayed drop-away, while contact near the nock end suggests bounce-back issues.
